Big & Little Totes: Learn to Sew for Parents/Guardians and their Kiddos

Friday, July 18, 1-4 pm (3 hours); materials included!

A fun class for kiddos (ages 8+) and their grown ups (moms, dads, guardians) to take together! Together you’ll learn how to set up and use a sewing machine, and the basic sewing techniques you need to make your very own lined tote bag. You and your kiddo will be sharing a sewing machine and working together.

We provide: fabric, tools, and pattern. We have 3 machines available. You may bring your own machine if you have one.

We provide enough fabric for each adult-kiddo duo to make one tote bag together. If you think your kiddo is a speedy learner and you can make two bags, you may bring additional supplies. To make an extra bag, please bring:

  • Outer fabric: 1 yard of medium weight or heavyweight fabric (quilting cotton, linen, leighweight canvas, or flannel)

  • Lining fabric: 1 yard of lightweight fabric (quilting cotton, linen, leighweight canvas, or flannel)

  • one 110 yard spool of thread to match the outer fabric
