sold out

Date: Monday, January 28th, from 7 pm to 9 pm - SOLD OUT

We are offering a second session of this workshop on MONDAY, FEB 4TH from 7 pm to 9 pm

Join Louise for this fun class! Using then Baa-ble Hat, Louise will teach you how to knit stranded colorwork (also know as Fair Isle) by carrying one color in each hand. She will talk about proper tension and "floats" in the back of your work. Techniques learned in this class can be applied to any colorwork project!

Materials: 4 colors of worsted weight yarn (we have several options, come see us!)

One you sign up for class, we will email you a copy of the pattern.

Homework: Prior to class, please knit the ribbing and the plain stockinette section, so the class time can be used to focus on the colorwork techniques. Also, using US7 needles and your yarn for the hat, cast on 20 stitches and knit about 5 rows in garter stitch. We will use this to introduce continental knitting to those students who are unfamiliar with the technique, which is used for the two-handed knitting..

If you have any questions, give us a call at 978-745-9276.

This is an intermediate class. You must be comfortable knitting in the round and must be comfortable with decreases. We will not be covering hat shaping in this class, but rather focusing on the Fair Isle technique.
