Join us for a full-day workshop with Elizabeth Doherty! Elizabeth is a designer from California’s Sierra Nevada. She published Top Down: Reimagining Set-In Sleeve Design.

Participants will learn to knit set-in sleeves—tailored to fit themselves perfectly—in this six hour hands-on
session. The class will include:

• An introduction to top-down set-in sleeve sweater construction
• Fitting a set-in sleeve
• Taking measurements and choosing a size
• Making adjustments for gauge differences
• Making adjustments for fitting bust and hips
• Shaping the armhole and knitting a sleeve cap

Using the information from their gauge swatch and the measurements we'll take in class, participants
will complete a practice armhole, then learn how to pick up stitches and begin shaping a sleeve cap. The practice sleeve cap will be worked in Osprey, Quince and Co's Aran weight yarn, so that most participants will have time to work through at least the upper cap shaping, if not entirely complete their practice sleeve cap.

Sunday, June 4th from 10 am to 5 pm (including an hour for lunch)

Homework

Instructions will be provided for knitting and blocking a gauge swatch at home, and for knitting the upper portion of the practice armhole.

Materials

1 skein Quince and Co Osprey in a light color; stitch markers; waste yarn; yarn needle; tape measure; non-flexible ruler, at least 6" long; two fine straight pins; notebook and pencil
