Class: Fitting and Designing Your Perfect Sweater

65.00

January 17 and 24 (meets twice), 7 pm to 9 pm

Whether you've never knit a sweater before, or have knitted sweaters and been unhappy with the fit, this class is for you!

Using Jane Richmond's Ladies Classic Raglan Pullover (pattern included in class fee) as a starting point, we will learn the following:

  • How to take accurate body measurements
  • How to read a pattern schematic and compare to our measurements
  • How to grade between sizes (since many of us are a different size at the bust and hips)
  • How to add any design element of your choice: cables, stitch patterns, stripes, colorwork, make it a cardigan!

In the first session, we will do our measurements and grading, get our patterns written, and cast on. Between sessions, you should complete the yoke. In the second session, we will address any outstanding questions, provide tips and tricks (like picking up stitches) and continue working on our sweaters.

Prior to class, please SWATCH with the yarn you intend to use!
